MOLD HELP: Evaluation Process PDF Print E-mail

Mold Help estimates that up to to 80% of all environmental consultants are substandard and practice "questionable" business ethics that MHS deems unacceptable, regardless of any trade organization affiliation. Antimicrobials, regardless of their registration through the EPA, often make false claims and are also equally ineffective and sometimes inappropriate.

For example, Clorox has been making grandiose claims about their product, Tilex, for quite some time.  Tilex, an EPA registered product, claims to "kill 99.9% of household mold" in their advertisements.  A MH representative contacted Clorox about their product, asking for laboratory data to back-up their grandiose claims.  Clorox admitted that their product didn't do as stated, but it killed bacteria.  When MHS filed a complaint with the EPA and questioned the ability of such a product to make such false claims under EPA registration, the EPA stated that they didn't understand how this happened and admitted they made a gross mistake.

The point is, no authority other than Mold Help can provide independent, laboratory analysis of antimicrobials who are evaluated with the MH Approval Program.  More importantly, environmental consultants must also face stringent standards to match our high values.  Mold Help rejects more inquiries for evaluation than it accepts.

The general public has different needs, and Mold Help took everything into consideration, quality being first and foremost, over a year ago when planning this program.  Over the years, we have been contacted on several occasions by people boasting the effectiveness of their products and services, while asking to be considered as a referral to our consumers. This is due to many reasons, but we have been unable to refer referrals due to our outstanding reputation and commitment to ethics, value, safety, and amount of people who rely on us.

The feedback to this program has been phenomenal.  Our evaluation process takes at least six weeks for remediation (when applicable) and products, due to our stringent product laboratory testing conducted at the University of Oregon.  The evaluation process for environmental consultants generally takes between 2 to 3 weeks.  Currently, there are 12 professionals that have been selected to become part of this prestigious listing.

Mold Help has an IAQ Director who individually interviews, monitors, provides recommendations, and sits on our advisory panel for each evaluation.  Upon announcement of this program we were virtually besieged with requests for evaluation, citing our exemplary reputation and of course, high traffic.  After denying several requests, we are moving momentously forward to assisting you, the consumer, with evaluated and approved resources.  The Mold Help third party product testing program is the most superior in the country, using one of the most distinguished mycologists in the country from a renowned university.

The Mold Help Resources site will become the premier resource for trusted referrals in the IAQ industry.  This resource provides quality, without compromise.

Our ratings:

Each valued resource is then evaluated for all of the pertinent criteria listed above.
Our rating is on a 1 to 4 star evaluation.  All evaluations are conducted using the same rating system except for Mold Help Remediation Professionals.  Due to our stringent standards, if a remediation company passes, we generally rank it at 2 stars, which is "good."  This is a wonderful rating by our standards and quite an accomplishment.  After a period of time and positive, consistent customer feedback, we may move the rating up to a higher rank.  A "good" rank is nothing negative and shows no bad reflection on the organization.  It is just that remediation is a very difficult category to rate, eve after our stringent process.  Rest assured, if a company can make it to a "good" ranking by our standards, they have gone above and beyond what most other companies cannot, and strive to be the best.

4 stars-Excellent
3 stars-Very Good
2 stars-Good
1 star-Fair

Failed evaluations will not be posted.

This way, we do the research for you.

Our evaluation process is the best system for finding an ethical and reliable resource for environmental professional and products.  This process has eliminated the unethical and amateur resources that pose as mold consultants, remediation, moisture management "experts" and mold abatement products since they do not want to be exposed for unscrupulous practices, criminal history, pending or previous litigations, lack of professional experience, conflicts of interest, no credentials, inflated prices, or ineffective products or services.
